A bone sewing needle for joining your knitted pieces.

100mm x 2.5mm

Bone will not tend to damage the threads of your knitting as it passes through. In my experience a steel needle, no matter how rounded will try to force its way through the threads, often causing damage to the yarn. Bone needles glide between the fibres which then close up behind it.

Bone needles are also suitable for re-enactors of the Viking and Saxon periods and earlier and are used for a form of knitting called Naalbinding which is often used as an extremely fast method of making thick woollen socks, mittens and hats.

Bone needles are supplied with sharp points. You may find them more gentle if you round the tip with fine sandpaper.

Like all natural products bone needs handling carefully to keep it at its best.

Thank you for the great service in sending my 15 sets of circular needles so promptly, and also for replacing the one slightly faulty set immediately when you sent my needle case.
The needles are wonderful value and feel gorgeous. I also like the fact that the cables are not too thin - I find thin cables annoying as the stitches are so loose on them - but they are flexible enough to do magic loop knitting. If the cables were just slightly more slippery they would be perfect!
I love the needle case too, and I''m sure I will be ordering from you in the future.

Just wanted to say that the order arrived on the third - just 24 hours after I placed it! A lot of companies splash great customer service testimonials all over their website, but it's great to actually deal with one that consistently (this is my third order from you) lives up to their own claims!

Sorry I am late posting this but felt I had to write something. I received my delivery of single point needles in the purple leaf case 2 weeks ago. What a wonderful service you provide. I ordered them on the Sunday evening and received them Tuesday morning. I am very pleased with my purchase and the case is beautiful. Will definitely be ordering again. I have not been able to knit as much as I would have liked recently due to painful arthritis in my fingers. I then read the post by Bridget a couple of weeks ago who had a similar problem. Prior to using the bamboo needles I was lucky if I could knit more than a few rows at a time due to the pain in my fingers. Since receiving and using these needles there is no going back. I have done so much knitting over the last 2 weeks to make up for time lost. With little pain. I have completed a hooded jacket for my grandson and am halfway through a sleeveless cardigan for myself. What can I say. Thank you again for allowing me to pick up my hobby again. I shall be ordering circular needles and stitch markers soon. You have some really pretty ones.

I first bought one of these on impulse when I got some bamboo dpns from you ages ago, and I can't recommend them highly enough: they make sewing up knitted pieces - the least enjoyable aspect of knitting in my opinion - almost a joy. They are beautifully smooth and don't snag on the yarn, making the process much quicker. Little things and they're not going to change the world but it's nice to be positive about something once in a while.

I was amazed at how quickly my needles were despatched and am thrilled with the quality. They are a fraction of shop prices!

I would recommend bamboo needles to anyone who has hand or joint problems. Whilst using ordinary needles a couple of years ago, after a gap of three years in knitting, I got excruciating pain in my left wrist. The swelling has never really gone down and as I am now 61, I blamed my age and stiffening joints. However, I read about bamboo needles in a magazine and recently tried them. I have so far completed several sets of dolls clothes for my grand-daughter with no pain! I have therefore replaced all my old single-pointed and double-poointed needles with bamboo versions and will eventually do the same with my circular needles and crochet hooks. They are so comfortable to use and the stitches don't "stick" on the needles.
